.. Does anyone have a 12-18 month old I can borrow!?

I planned to knit these gorgeous goldfish mittens for a friend's soon-to-be one year old babies.

I finished the first one this afternoon, showed it to my mother & she said she didn't think it would fit.

It measures 11.5cm long (from the middle of the V) & 5.5cm wide & thumb to top is 7cm.

Does that sound like it'd fit a 12-18 month old? Or should I hang onto it for a smaller baby?

Thanks!

That would be so helpful, thankyou! I'm afraid I don't know of any babies who live near me!

Did you knit them to the gauge the pattern says? It says they fit a toddler so they should fit. Maybe this mitten sizing chart would help? http://www.kiwi-sheepskins.com/glovemittensizes.html

managed to pin my 17.5 month down for you. On him, 11.5 cm would put the middle of the V nicely on his wrist, 7 cm should fit his thumb exactly, and 5.5 cm is a touch narrow, but this is the mitt unstretched and there will be quite a bit of give in the round. In short they would be perfect for him right now. My son is the skinny kind and unless the babes you are knitting for have large hands I would say they will get use out of these mitts this winter, seeing as they are younger and should have smaller hands.
