UK knitters ahoy

I want to make some of those winter warmers that can be slung in a microwave to be warmed up!

Is this a good idea? What do I need to know? What wool is safe for such a project?

Any advice greatly received.

I have made many, many of these, they take about 2 minutes! I don't knit them, though - knitting is the wrong kind of fabric, as the filling would escape. You want some heavy cotton fabric - vyella or towelling (a cheap hand-towel is ideal). Needs to measure about 30-40 cm square. Fold in half and sew one short side and the long side closed (takes 30 seconds on a sewing-machine); stuff with either 500 g brown rice or 500 g wheat berries, and ideally a tablespoonful of dried lavender flowers, then sew the final side closed. All done!
